Peanut Butter-Chocolate Kiss Cookies
- 1/2 c. shortening
- 1/2 c. peanut butter
- 1/2 c. sugar
- 1/2 c. firmly packed brown sugar
- 1 egg
- 2 Tbsp. milk
- 1 tsp. vanilla extract
- 1 3/4 c. all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp. baking soda
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1/4 c. sugar
- 48 chocolate Kisses
- Cream shortening and peanut butter; gradually add 1/2 cup sugar and brown sugar, beating until light and fluffy.
- Add egg, milk and vanilla; beat well.
- Combine flour, soda and salt; add to creamed mixture.
- Roll dough into 1-inch balls and then roll in 1/4 cup sugar; place 2 inches apart on a lightly greased cookie sheet.
- Bake at 375u0b0 for 8 minutes.
- Remove from oven; press a chocolate Kiss into the center of each cookie.
- Return to oven for an additional 2 minutes or until lightly browned.
- Makes 4 dozen cookies.
