Baked Apple Cider Donuts

  1. Preheat oven to 375u0b0F. Spray a donut pan (or two), set aside (recipe will make about 10 donuts).
  2. In a large bowl, whisk dry ingredients to combine (flour, baking powder, baking soda, sea salt, cinnamon, nutmeg).
  3. In a second bowl, add melted butter, egg, sugar, apple cider and applesauce. Whisk until uniform. Pour dry ingredients into wet and fold gently to combine, without overdoing it.
  4. Pour batter into a large zip bag and make a small cut in one of the corners. When you are ready to pour batter into donut pan, twist bag, squeezing the batter out through the small corner cut and into the donut pan.
  5. Bake for 10 minutes. Insert toothpick to make sure it is cooked through. Remove from oven and allow it to cool off before removing from the pan.
  6. In a small plate (or shallow bowl), mix cinnamon and sugar for the coating.
  7. Melt butter in microwave. Brush on both sides of the donut and dip into the sugar plate, until fully coated with cinnamon sugar.
