Nana’S Famous Strawberry Pie
- 1 whole 9 Inch Baked Pie Crust

- FOR THE CREAM FILLING:
- 1 package Cool Whip, 8 Ounces
- 1 package Cream Cheese (8 Ounces), Softened
- 1 cup Sugar
- 1 teaspoon Vanilla

- FOR THE GLAZE:
- 1 cup Strawberries, Mashed
- 1 cup Sugar
- 1 Tablespoon Cornstarch (Heaping Tablespoon)
- 3/4 cups Hot Water
- 1 drop Red Food Coloring
- 1 pint Strawberries, Hulled And Sliced
- For the crust, see 'Nana's Pie Crust' here on TastyKitchen - or use your own favorite crust recipe - or buy a store-bought one.
- Cream filling:
- Mix Cool Whip, cream cheese, sugar, and vanilla with an electric mixer until smooth. Pour into baked pie crust.
- Glaze:
- In a microwave safe bowl add mashed strawberries, sugar, corn starch and hot water. Cook for 3 minutes and stir. Cook and additional 3 minutes, then add food coloring and stir. (Glaze should be thicker than when you started, but will thicken more as it cools.) Cool glaze in refrigerator until no longer warm.
- Pie Assembly:
- Evenly arrange sliced strawberries in a circular pattern on top of pie. Pour chilled glaze on top of pie. Keep refrigerated.
