Vickie’S Poppy Seed Bread
- FOR THE BREAD:
- 3 cups All-purpose Flour
- 1-1/2 teaspoon Salt
- 1-1/2 teaspoon Baking Powder
- 3 whole Eggs
- 1-1/2 cup Milk
- 1-1/8 cup Corn Oil
- 2-1/2 cups White Sugar
- 1-1/2 Tablespoon Poppy Seeds
- 1-1/2 teaspoon Vanilla
- 1 teaspoon Almond Extract
- 1 teaspoon Butter Flavor Extract

- FOR THE GLAZE:
- 1/4 cups Orange Juice
- 3/4 cups Sugar
- 1/2 teaspoons Vanilla
- 1/2 teaspoons Almond Extract
- 1/2 teaspoons Butter Flavor Extract
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
- Grease and flour 2 large loaf pans or 6 mini loaf pans.
- Sift together flour, salt and baking powder. Set aside.
- Whisk together by hand the eggs, milk, corn oil and sugar. Combine well. Add poppy seeds, vanilla, almond, and butter extracts.
- Add the flour mixture to the egg mixture and mix by hand until well-combined.
- Pour into prepared pans.
- Bake 40 to 50 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center of each loaf comes out clean. Remove to wire racks and cool completely.
- For the glaze:
- Combine orange juice and sugar in a small saucepan and heat mixture until sugar dissolves. Add the extracts. Mix well and pour over the cooled loaves.
