Margarita Pie

  1. Mix gelatin, 1/2 cup granulated sugar and salt in saucepan. In bowl, beat egg yolks and lime juice until foamy.
  2. Add to gelatin mixture.
  3. Cook over low heat, stirring until gelatin is dissolved, 3 to 5 minutes.
  4. Remove from heat.
  5. Stir in lime peel, tequila and Triple Sec.
  6. Chill until thickened, but not firmly set.
  7. In separate bowl, beat egg whites until stiff.
  8. Slowly add 1/2 cup granulated sugar.
  9. Fold into chilled gelatin mixture. Pour into pie shell.
  10. Chill until set.
  11. Whip cream until peaks form; add powdered sugar.
  12. Top pie with cream.
  13. Decorate with lime twists.
