Warm Cinnamon Apple-Pear Sauce
- 12 whole Apples, Peeled, Sliced And Chunked (I Like A Mix Of Braeburn, Granny Smith, And Cortland)
- 1 cup Water
- 3/4 cups Brown Sugar
- 1/4 cups Maple Syrup
- 1-1/2 Tablespoon Cinnamon
- 1 Tablespoon Vanilla Extract (Good Quality Pure Extract)
- 1/2 cups Raisins (optional)
- 1 quart Canned Pears Halves, Drained And Chopped
- Place chopped apples into a large crock or heavy Dutch oven. Add the remaining ingredients except the pears. Cover the pan with foil and place on a baking sheet.
- Bake in a 200u0b0F oven all night. (Alternatively, I have baked this for about 3 hours at 350u0b0F. However, if you go this route, you must stir the pot about every 30 minutes.)
- In the morning, use a potato masher to lightly mash the mixture, stirring well. Add the chopped pears. Stir well.
- Serve in bowls with a dollop with freshly whipped cream.
