Grandmom Trump’S Peach Roll
- 1-1/2 cup Sugar
- 2 cups Water
- 1 stick Butter, Softened
- Cinnamon, For Sprinkling
- DRY INGREDIENTS:
- 2 cups All-purpose Flour
- 1/2 teaspoons Salt
- 3 Tablespoons Sugar
- 4 teaspoons Baking Powder
- WET INGREDIENTS:
- 1/2 cups Milk
- 3 Tablespoons Vegetable Oil
- 1 whole Large Egg
- 10 whole Medium Peaches, Peeled And Cut Into Small Dice
- Preheat your oven to 425 degrees. Grease a 13 x 9" baking dish.
- Boil together sugar and water to make simple syrup. Once sugar has dissolved into the water, remove the syrup from heat and set aside. You can also do this in a microwave, it usually takes about 1 minute 30 seconds, just heat it up and stir to combine. Pour the simple syrup into a 13 x 9" baking dish.
- Mix the dry ingredients together and set aside.
- Mix the wet ingredients and set aside.
- Add wet ingredients to the dry - mix well.
- Roll out dough onto a floured surface into a 1/4 inch thick rectangle shape. Spread with soft butter (you don't have to use all the butter, just enough to cover the dough.)
- Spread peaches over dough. Roll up like a jelly roll. Cut 1" slices and place in a 13x9 inch baking dish that has the syrup poured into the bottom.
- Sprinkle top with as much cinnamon as you like. Bake for 20-25 minutes.
