Applesauce Cake
- 1 cup Vegetable Or Canola Oil
- 2 cups White Sugar
- 2 cups Unsweetened Applesauce
- 3 cups Flour
- 2 teaspoons Baking Powder
- 1-1/2 teaspoon Cloves
- 1-1/2 teaspoon Nutmeg
- 1-1/2 teaspoon Cinnamon
- 1/2 teaspoons Baking Soda
- 1/2 teaspoons Salt
- 1 cup Raisins
- 2 cups Chopped Walnuts Or Pecans
- Cream together oil, sugar and applesauce with a mixer.
- In a separate bowl, combine flour, baking powder, cloves, nutmeg, cinnamon,baking soda, and salt. Slowly add to the mixer and mix till combined.
- Stir in raisins and nuts.
- Use shortening to grease a tube pan well and bake at 350 degrees for 1 hour or maybe a little longer, depending on your oven. Let cool for about 15 minutes.
- My great-grandmother would give these as gifts at Christmas time.
