Ziti With Hearty Meat Sauce

  1. In heavy 4-quart pan over medium heat, cook oil, butter, parsley, onion and carrot until tender.
  2. Add meat and cook until meat loses its pink color.
  3. Increase heat to medium-high.
  4. Add milk and cook until it evaporates, stirring often.
  5. Stir in tomatoes and juice; add spices.
  6. Heat to boiling.
  7. Reduce heat to low and simmer, uncovered, 1 1/2 hours.
  8. Cook ziti al dente and drain.
  9. Serve sauce over noodles.
  10. (Good with green salad and French bread.)
