Yellow Rice
- 2 Tablespoons Butter
- 1/2 whole Onion
- Salt And Pepper
- 1/2 teaspoons Ground Cumin
- 1 pinch Red Pepper Flakes
- 2 cloves Garlic, Minced
- 1 cup Long Grain White Rice
- 2 cups Chicken Or Vegetable Broth
- 1/4 teaspoons Turmeric
- 1/2 cups Frozen Green Peas
- Melt butter in a medium-sized pot over medium heat. Add onions, season with salt, black pepper, cumin and red pepper flakes. Saute 3-5 minutes or until onions are translucent.
- Add garlic and saute 30 seconds. Add rice and saute for an additional minute. Add broth and turmeric and stir to combine. Cover and bring to a boil. Reduce to a simmer and cook for 20 minutes or until rice is tender and liquid is absorbed.
- Fluff with fork, add in peas and taste for seasoning. Cover, remove from heat and allow rice to rest about 5 minutes before serving. Enjoy.
