Sweet Sour Short Ribs

  1. Cut short ribs into serving size pieces; remove excess fat. Dredge in 1/3 cup flour and put in frying pan.
  2. Brown well on all sides in hot fat; remove to a heavy pot.
  3. Add pepper, onions and garlic to fat; cook until tender.
  4. Combine remaining ingredients except flour and noodles; pour over ribs.
  5. Cover tightly; cook slowly until tender, 2 1/2 to 3 hours.
  6. Put ribs on serving plate and keep warm.
  7. Pour off fat from gravy.
  8. Stir in rest of flour and 2 tablespoons water.
  9. Serve on hot buttered noodles.
