Slow Cooker Chili
- 1 pound Ground Beef
- 1 whole Medium Onion, Chopped
- 1 can Red Kidney Beans
- 1 can Pinto Beans
- 1 can Chili Beans
- 2 cans Mexican Style Diced Tomatoes
- 1/2 cans Water (use One Of The Cans From The Beans Or Tomatoes)
- Salt And Pepper, to taste
- 1/2 teaspoons Ground Cumin
- 1 teaspoon Red Chili Flakes
- 2 Tablespoons Chili Powder Or One Packet Chili Powder
- 1 cup Cheddar Cheese, Shredded (optional)
- 1 tub Sour Cream (optional)
- 1 whole Red Onion, Small, Diced (optional)
- 1 package Saltine Crackers (optional)
- 1.) Over medium high heat, brown the hamburger meat in a medium sized pan. Salt and pepper the raw meat. Strain fat away when browned.
- 2.) Add the meat, onions, beans, tomatoes, water, s&p, cumin, red pepper flakes, and chili powder to the slow cooker.
- 3.) Set the slow cooker on low and simmer for at least 6 hours. (Here you could also just put everything in a big pot on the stove and let it simmer for an hour).
- 4.) Serve in a big bowl and top with your choice of the optional ingredients.
