Irish Apple Beer Bread
- 1/2 cups Softened Butter
- 1 cup Sugar
- 2 whole Eggs
- 2 cups Apple Butter
- 12 ounces, fluid Dark Beer, Stout Or Porter
- 1 Tablespoon Molasses
- 4 cups All-purpose Flour
- 2 Tablespoons Baking Powder
- 1 teaspoon Salt
- Preheat the oven to 350 F. Butter and flour two standard size loaf pans.
- In a large bowl using an electric mixer, cream together the butter and sugar until fluffy. Add the eggs, apple butter, beer and molasses and mix well.
- In a separate bowl, whisk the flour, baking powder and salt together. Slowly add the dry ingredients into the wet mixture. Beat to combine.
- Pour the batter evenly into the 2 prepared loaf pans. Bake for 60-70 minutes, until a toothpick inserted into the middle of the loaf comes out clean.
- Cool in the loaf pans for 10 minutes before gently inverting the pans to release the loaves. Cool bread on a wire rack. Once completely cool, wrap well to store.
- Makes 2 loaves.
