Gruyere-Rosemary Beer Bread

  1. Heat oven to 375 F. Lightly grease a 9-by-5-inch loaf pan; set aside.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder and salt. Add beer and stir until just combined. Fold in Gruyere cheese and rosemary.
  3. Pour batter into prepared pan and smooth the top. Pour melted butter evenly over top of the bread.
  4. Bake until golden brown and a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean, about 45 minutes. Cool in pan 10 minutes. Then remove bread from pan and cool completely on a cooling rack before serving.
