Tacos
- 1 c. chopped onion
- 1 clove garlic
- 1/4 c. salad oil
- 1 (8 oz.) can tomato sauce
- 1 c. water
- 1 to 2 Tbsp. chopped jalapeno chilies
- 1 tsp. oregano
- 1/4 tsp. ground cumin
- 1 lb. ground beef
- 1 pkg. prefolded corn tortillas
- 2 c. shredded lettuce
- 1 c. chopped tomato
- 1 c. shredded Monterey Jack cheese
- Place onion and garlic in a 1-quart ovenware casserole.
- Cook for 5 minutes or until onion is soft, stirring occasionally.
- Add salad oil, tomato sauce, water, jalapenos, oregano, 1/2 teaspoon salt and cumin to onion and garlic.
- Cover and continue cooking for 15 minutes.
- Place beef and 1 cup onion in 1 1/2-quart ovenware casserole.
- Cover.
- Continue cooking 6 minutes.
- Add 1/2 cup chili sauce.
- Heat tortillas 15 minutes.
