Chocolate Oat-Chip Cookies
- 1 c. margarine or butter (2 sticks), softened
- 1 1/4 c. firmly packed brown sugar
- 1/2 c. granulated sugar
- 2 eggs
- 2 Tbsp. milk
- 2 tsp. vanilla
- 1 3/4 c. plain flour
- 1 tsp. baking soda
- 1/2 tsp. salt (optional)
- 2 1/2 c. Quaker oats (quick or old fashioned)
- 1 (12 oz.) pkg. (2 c.) semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 1 c. coarsely chopped nuts
- Heat oven too 375u0b0.
- Beat margarine and sugars until creamy. Add eggs, milk and vanilla; beat well.
- Add flour, baking soda and salt; mix well.
- Stir in oats, chocolate chips and nuts.
- Mix well.
- Drop by rounded measuring teaspoonfuls onto ungreased cookie sheet.
- Bake 9 to 10 minutes for a chewy cookie, 12 to 13 minutes for a crisp cookie.
- Cool 1 minute on cookie sheet. Remove to wire rack.
- Cool completely.
- Makes about 5 dozen.
