Homemade Peppermint Ice Cream

  1. Heat milk until bubbles form around the pan. Remove milk from heat. Add sugar and salt, stir until dissolved. Stir in half-and-half, whipping cream, vanilla , peppermint syrup, and crushed peppermint candies.
  2. Place into an ice cream maker and follow manufacturer's directions. This is such a versatile recipe! Eventually you will come up with your own variations.
  3. Pour ice cream into individual containers for easy gift giving or for entertaining.
  4. May sprinkle a few extra pieces of crushed peppermint candy to the top to make it look even more adorable!
  5. Enjoy!
  6. Makes about 5 1/2 quarts of ice cream
