Buttermilk French Toast
- 1/2 cups Buttermilk
- 1/2 cups Milk Or Half-and-Half
- 5 wheels Large Eggs
- 1 Tablespoon Granulated Sugar
- 2 Tablespoons All-purpose Flour
- 1/8 teaspoons Baking Powder
- 1/8 teaspoons Salt
- 3/4 teaspoons Ground Cinnamon
- 1 pinch Ground Nutmeg
- 1 teaspoon Vanilla Extract
- 10 slices French Bread, Sliced 1" Thick
- Butter, For Cooking French Toast
- Preheat a nonstick griddle over medium heat. Combine all ingredients (except the bread of course) in a blender. Blend on low speed for 10 seconds. Pour mixture into a shallow bowl. Butter a preheated griddle and dip bread into the mixture (giving it a few seconds to soak up mixture) and cover both sides. Place on the griddle and cook until golden brown (about 2-3 minutes), then lift French toast with a spatula, butter the griddle again and flip the French toast. Cook the opposite side until golden. Serve immediately. Serve with maple syrup, berry syrup, powdered sugar or your favorite jam.
