Baked Beans

  1. Cover beans with water and bring to a boil.
  2. Simmer slowly for 1/2 hour or more until tender.
  3. Preheat oven to 250u0b0.
  4. Drain the beans, reserve the cooking water and add onions, molasses, catsup, dry mustard, salt, bean water or beer, vinegar, curry powder and Worcestershire sauce.
  5. Place in a greased casserole.
  6. Decorate with sliced salt pork.
  7. Bake covered for 6 to 9 hours.
  8. If they become dry, add well seasoned stock or reserved bean water.
  9. Uncover for the last hour of cooking.
