Fudge Walnut Ripple Layer Cake
- 1 2/3 c. unsifted flour
- 1 1/2 c. sugar
- 2/3 c. unsweetened cocoa
- 1 1/2 tsp. baking soda
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1 1/2 c. buttermilk
- 1/2 c. shortening
- 3 eggs
- 3 tsp. vanilla extract
- 1 (8 oz.) pkg. cream cheese, softened
- 2 Tbsp. margarine or butter, softened
- 1 Tbsp. cornstarch
- 1 (14 oz.) can sweetened condensed milk
- Fudgy Frosting
- 3/4 to 1 c. chopped walnuts
- Preheat
- oven
- to 350u0b0.
- In a large mixer bowl, combine flour, sugar,
- cocoa, baking soda, salt, buttermilk, shortening,t eggs
- and
- 2
- teaspoons vanilla extract.
- Beat on low speed until blended, scraping bowl constantly.teat 3 minutes on
- high speed, scraping bowl occasionally.
- Pour into 2 paper lined, greased and floured 9-inch cake pans.
