Fried Green Tomatoes
- 3 whole Green Tomatoes, Cut In 1/4 Inch Slices
- Salt And Pepper, to taste
- 1/2 cups All-purpose Flour
- 2 whole Large Eggs, Beaten With Below Amount Of Water
- 1 Tablespoon Water
- 1/2 cups Yellow Cornmeal
- 1/2 cups Panko Crumbs
- 1/8 teaspoons Paprika
- Oil, For Frying
- Liberally season green tomato slices with salt and pepper on both sides.
- Add flour into a shallow bowl. Combine the egg and water in a separate shallow bowl.
- Combine cornmeal, panko crumbs and paprika in another small bowl and whisk together.
- Begin by dipping each seasoned tomato slice into the flour, coating on both sides.
- Next add floured tomato slice into the egg mixture, coating on both sides.
- Lastly dip into cornmeal and crumb mixture, coating on both sides. Set the coated slices aside on a baking sheet. Repeat dredging process, starting with the flour mixture, until all slices are coated.
- Heat oil (just enough to cover the bottom of the pan) in a frying pan over medium high heat.
- Fry tomato slices on both sides until golden brown and drain on paper towels.
- Serve warm.
