Beet Salad

  1. Layer cabbage and onion in bowl; pour 3/4 cup sugar over.
  2. Do not mix!
  3. Combine oil, vinegar, salt, dry mustard, celery seed and sugar in saucepan.
  4. Let come to a boil.
  5. Pour hot dressing over cabbage and onion.
  6. Do not mix!
  7. Let set in refrigerator for at least 3 hours or overnight.
  8. (Years ago you set it on the cellar floor.)
  9. Mix before serving.
