Caramel Frosting

  1. Cream the shortening until light, adding sugar. Add eggs, beating after each one.
  2. Add molasses and coffee. Sift flour with spices and 1 teaspoon salt. Stir into creamed mixture. Add fruit and nuts.
  3. Bake in a large pan at 275u0b0 for 3 hours. Will keep forever.
