Apple Slices

  1. Use a 13 x 9-inch pan.
  2. Preheat oven to 400u0b0.
  3. In large bowl, stir flour and salt.
  4. Cut the butter in until crumbly, use a fork. Beat egg yolk and add enough milk to make 2/3 cup.
  5. Stir into flour mixture; blend with fork.
  6. Mix with hands.
  7. If too sticky, add a little more flour.
  8. Divide dough in half.
  9. Make 2 balls.
  10. Roll out dough thin; stretch with hands.
  11. Don't grease pan.
  12. Fill bottom of pan with 1/2 of dough rolled thin.
  13. Spread 1 cup crushed cornflakes over crust.
  14. Mix apple slices, sugar and cinnamon in a bowl; spread over cornflakes.
  15. Place second 1/2 of dough, rolled out, on top of mixture as a top crust.
  16. Use fork to seal edges.
  17. Beat egg white until frothy and spread over crust.
  18. Bake at 400u0b0 for 50 to 60 minutes or until golden brown.
  19. Let cool slightly.
