Apple Butter Hand Pies With A Maple Syrup Glaze
- 2 whole Premade Pie Crusts, Unbaked
- 3/4 cups Apple Butter
- 1 Egg White
- FOR THE GLAZE:
- 1/2 cups Powdered Sugar
- 3 Tablespoons Milk
- 1 Tablespoon Maple Syrup
- Preheat oven to 450u0b0F.
- Roll out pie dough on a floured surface. Cut out dough in desired shape. Separate shapes so that half are for the bottoms, and half are for the tops of the pies.
- Put 1 tablespoon of apple butter in the center of each pie bottom. Place a second cutout on top and crimp edges together with a fork. Cut small slits in the top of each pie (2-3 is fine).
- In a small bowl, whisk egg white until light and frothy. Brush top of each pie with a little of the egg white. Place pies on a cookie sheet lined with parchment paper
- Bake for 10-12 minutes or until tops are golden brown. Allow pies to cool completely before putting the glaze on.
- For the glaze:
- Mix together sugar, milk and maple syrup in a small bowl. Add more water a teaspoon at a time if the glaze needs to be loosened up. You want it to be loose enough that it can easily be drizzled on top with a spoon.
