Black Walnut And Chocolate Pound Cake
- 1 c. butter, softened
- 1/2 c. shortening
- 3 c. sugar
- 5 eggs
- 3 c. flour
- 1/2 tsp. baking powder
- 5 Tbsp. baking cocoa
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1 c. milk
- 1 tsp. black walnut extract
- 1 oz. unsweetened chocolate, melted
- 1/2 c. chopped black walnuts
- Cream butter, shortening and sugar in mixer bowl until light and fluffy.
- Add eggs 1 at a time, beating well after each addition.
- Sift flour, baking powder, cocoa and salt together 3 times.
- Add to creamed mixture alternately with milk, beating well after each addition.
- Stir in black walnut extract and chocolate. Fold in walnuts.
- Pour into well-greased tube pan.
- Bake at 275u0b0 for 1 hour and 55 minutes.
- Do not open oven door during baking time.
- Cool in pan for several minutes.
- Invert onto serving plate.
- Yield:
- 16 servings.
