Old Fashioned Sugar Cookies

  1. Cream margarine thoroughly.
  2. Add sugar gradually and cream together until light and fluffy.
  3. Add eggs and beat thoroughly. Sift flour once; measure.
  4. Add baking powder and salt and sift together 3 times.
  5. Add flour mixture and mix thoroughly.
  6. Add flavoring.
  7. Chill.
  8. Roll dough very thin and cut into fancy shapes with floured cutter.
  9. Decorate tops of cookies with sugar, colored candies, finely powdered walnuts, almonds, whole blanched almonds and raisins.
  10. Bake on well greased cookie sheets or on bottom of inverted pans in a hot oven (400u0b0) 6 minutes or until done.
  11. Watch that they do not burn!
  12. Makes about 10 dozen 3-inch cookies.
