Chocolate And Banana Layered Cake
- 2 whole Round Chocolate Cakes (I Used A Boxed Mix)
- 1-1/2 cup Chocolate Frosting
- 1-1/2 cup Sweetened Whipped Cream
- 3 whole Bananas
- There are four components to this cake.
- 1. We have ripe bananas, ready to slice as we go. Ya don't want them to go brown by the time they are used.
- 2. Sweetened whipped cream.
- 3. And chocolate icing. I just made it to taste.
- 4. And of course, the chocolate cake. Two round cakes.
- First, slice the cake into layers. Cut it with a sharp serrated knife or a cake leveler if you have one. Carefully frost the first layer, being careful not to bring up chunks of cake and also trying to leave enough icing on the outside edge of the cake for the appearance of the cake when you're done. Then add the whipped cream, doing the same with the amount, leaving enough so it will slightly push out on the sides. But too much will squish all over. So the perfect amount will do.
- Then slice the bananas. I like to leave the bananas away from the outer edge. They will brown quickly if out in the open and that makes for an ugly cake.
- Follow the same instructions for the next 3 layers. But the leave the bananas off the top! They don't look pretty!
