Hamburger Soup
- 1 lb. ground beef
- 1 medium onion, chopped
- 1 (16 oz.) can whole tomatoes, undrained
- 4 c. water
- 2 beef flavor bouillon cubes
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1/2 to 1 tsp. pepper
- 1 bay leaf
- 3/4 c. sliced celery
- 1 tsp. Worcestershire sauce
- 1 (10 oz.) pkg. frozen mixed vegetables
- 1 c. medium egg noodles
- 1/2 tsp. dried whole thyme
- Brown beef and onions over medium heat.
- Drain on paper towels.
- Return to soup pot and add next 8 ingredients (tomatoes, water, bouillon, salt, pepper, bay leaf, celery and Worcestershire sauce).
- Bring to a boil, cover and simmer for 30 minutes.
- Add vegetables, noodles and thyme.
- Bring to a boil, simmer, uncovered, about 20 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- Yields 6 to 8 servings.
