Heath Cake – Not Health Cake
- 18 ounces, weight Box Of German Chocolate Cake Mix, Baked
- Additional Required Ingredients Specified In Mix Package (typically Water, Eggs And Oil)
- 14 ounces, fluid Sweetened, Condensed Milk
- 12 ounces, fluid Caramel Ice Cream Topping
- 8 ounces, weight Cool Whip
- 1/2 bags (8 Oz. Bag) Heath Toffee Bits (In The Baking Aisle, Found Along With The Chocolate Chips)
- Prepare German Chocolate cake mix in a 9x13 cake pan according to instructions on box (you'll typically need water, eggs, and oil, as directed in mix package). I sometimes use a Devil's Food cake mix depending on how much chocolate I'm in the mood for. While cake is still warm, poke holes into the cake with a fork. Pour condensed milk over the cake. Let it soak in just a minute. Pour caramel topping evenly over the cake.
- Cover and refrigerate the cake until thoroughly cooled. I stick with overnight or at least 4 hours if I forget to make it the night before.
- When ready to serve, top the cake with all of the Cool Whip. Then sprinkle the Heath Toffee bits on top, cut and serve. Refrigerate leftovers.
