Three-Bean Turkey Chili
- 1 whole Yellow Or White Onion
- 3 cloves Garlic
- 1 Tablespoon Olive Oil
- 1 pound Ground Turkey
- 1 can Black Beans 15 Oz.
- 1 can Kidney Beans (15 Oz)
- 1 can White Beans, 15 Oz.
- 1-1/2 can (29 Oz Size) Tomato Sauce
- 1/2 teaspoons Powdered Cayenne Pepper
- 1 teaspoon Cinnamon
- 2 teaspoons Mexican-style Powdered Oregano
- 1 dash Black Pepper To Taste
- 1-1/2 Tablespoon Cumin
- 3 Tablespoons Unsweetened Cocoa Powder
- Optional Garnishes: Shredded Cheddar Cheese, Sour Cream, And Chopped Cilantro
- Dice the onion and finely mince the garlic. In a large pot, heat the oil over medium heat and add the onion, garlic, and ground turkey. Cook until the turkey is done and the onions are translucent.
- Drain the 3 cans of beans and add them and the tomato sauce to the pot. I used about a can and a half of tomato sauce, but adjust the amount to your personal consistency preferences. Add all the spices except the cocoa powder and cook the chili over medium heat for 10 or 15 minutes. Then stir in the cocoa powder and cook for 2-3 more minutes.
- Garnish with cheddar cheese, sour cream, and chopped cilantro, if desired.
