Chocolate Covered Preztels
- 1 bag Pretzel Rods, Large
- 12 ounces, weight Chocolate Chips
- 1 Tablespoon Shortening
- 6 ounces, weight White Chocolate, Butterscotch Or Peanut Butter Chips
- 1 teaspoon Shortening
- 1/2 cups Pecans, Peanuts Or Hazelnuts, Chopped And Toasted
- 1/4 cups Sprinkles, Toasted Coconut, Mini M&Ms, Etc.
- Line a cookie sheet with wax paper. Melt your chocolate chips and shortening slowly in the microwave using short 30 second bursts.
- Pour melted, chocolate mixture into a disposable paper cup for easy dunking. Dunk your pretzel rods as deep as you'd like and lay them on the wax paper.
- Once all the pretzels have been dipped, you can sprinkle them with the nuts, coconut, sprinkles or mini M&M's or whatever your creative brain comes up with! Chill them in the fridge until the chocolate has set.
- While the chocolate is setting, get your other chocolate and 1 tsp. of shortening melted and pour into a pastry bag with a small round tip or a Ziploc baggie with one of the corners barely snipped.
- Drizzle a contrasting white chocolate, butterscotch or peanut butter swirl on each pretzel to create a layered look. This also helps keep your toppings affixed.
- Chill off in fridge again.
- Aren't they cuuuuuuuuuute?
- You can get cello treat bags to package them in and tie with a curling ribbon. They make a great party favor or treat!
