Microwave Japanese Steak
- 2 Tbsp. soy sauce
- 1 Tbsp. lemon juice
- 1/2 Tbsp. brown sugar
- 1/2 tsp. cornstarch
- 1 lb. round steak, sliced across the grain into 1/4-inch thick strips
- 1 Tbsp. sesame oil
- 1 garlic clove, minced
- 1 large onion, thinly sliced
- 1 tsp. chopped fresh ginger
- 1 red pepper, cut into thin strips
- 1 green pepper, cut into thin strips
- Combine the soy sauce, lemon juice, sugar and cornstarch.
- Add the beef strips and marinate for 20 minutes at room temperature. Combine the oil, garlic, onion and ginger in a pie plate and microwave on High for 3 minutes.
- Place the onion in the center of the dish and place the meat around the outside edge of the dish, reserving the marinade.
- Microwave, covered, on High for 3 minutes. Stir the onion and the meat together.
- Add the reserved marinade and the pepper strips.
- Microwave, covered, on High for 3 minutes.
- Serve over rice.
