Meat Loaf With Cheese Stuffing
- 1 1/2 lb. ground beef
- 1/4 tsp. pepper
- 1 1/2 c. soft bread crumbs
- 1/2 c. onion, finely chopped
- 8 oz. sharp cheese slices
- 1 Tbsp. Worcestershire
- 1 1/2 tsp. salt
- 2 eggs, slightly beaten
- 1 Tbsp. prepared mustard
- 2 Tbsp. evaporated milk
- 2 Tbsp. ketchup
- 1/4 c. green pepper, finely chopped
- Combine beef, eggs, bread crumbs, onions and green pepper. Add Worcestershire sauce, salt, pepper, mustard, milk and ketchup. Mix lightly but well.
- Meat will be juicier and more tender if you handle it as little as possible.
- Divide meat mixture into 3 equal parts into bottom of a greased loaf pan.
- Gently pat 1/3 of mixture.
- Cover with 4 overlapping cheese slices and repeat meat, cheese and meat.
- Bake at 375u0b0 for 50 minutes.
