Crispy Cereal Meringues

  1. In a large bowl, beat the egg whites, cream of tartar and salt until soft peaks form. Gradually add sugar, 1 tablespoon at a time, until stiff peaks form, about 6 minutes. Fold in cereal.
  2. Drop by rounded teaspoonfuls 1 in. apart onto
  3. coated with cooking spray. Bake at 300u0b0 for 35-40 minutes or until firm to the touch. Remove to wire racks to cool.
  4. In a microwave, melt chocolate chips and shortening; stir until smooth. Transfer to a small resealable plastic bag; cut a small hole in the corner of bag. Drizzle melted chocolate over meringues. Place on waxed paper to set.
