Ham Chowder
- 2 c. boiling water
- 2 c. chopped potatoes
- 1/2 c. carrot slices
- 1/2 c. celery slices
- 1/4 c. chopped onion
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1/4 tsp. pepper
- 1/4 c. margarine
- 1/4 c. flour
- 2 c. milk
- 2 1/2 c. shredded cheese (Cheddar or Colby)
- 16 oz. can cream-style corn
- 1 to 2 c. cubed ham
- Combine water, potatoes, carrots, celery, onion, salt and pepper.
- Microwave on Full power 10 to 15 minutes.
- Do not drain! Melt margarine in microwave dish.
- Add flour and mix well.
- Add milk.
- Microwave on Full power 6 to 8 minutes, stirring every 2 minutes until thick.
- Add cheese to milk/flour to make cheese sauce.
- Add cheese sauce, corn and ham to vegetables.
- Heat on Full power 3 to 5 minutes or until hot.
- Do not boil.
- Serve hot with bread and crackers.
