Appetizer Pinwheels
- 2 cups shredded Gruyere or Swiss cheese
- 3 tablespoons minced fresh sage
- 1 package (17.3 ounces) frozen puff pastry, thawed
- 4 ounces thinly sliced prosciutto or deli ham
- In a small bowl, mix cheese and sage. Unfold puff pastry; cut each in half crosswise. Top each half with prosciutto and cheese mixture to within 1/2 inch of edges; roll up jelly-roll style, starting with a long side. Wrap tightly in waxed paper or plastic; refrigerate at least 3 hours or overnight.
- Preheat oven to 400u0b0. Unwrap and cut each roll crosswise into sixteen 1/2-inch slices. Place cut side down on greased
- . Bake 14-16 minutes or until golden brown.
- Rolls can be made 2 days in advance. Wrap rolls in waxed paper and place in a container; close tightly and store in the refrigerator.
- Freeze wrapped rolls in a resealable freezer container. To use, unwrap frozen rolls and cut into slices. Bake as directed.
