Strawberry Almond Bars
- 1-1/4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/3 cup packed brown sugar
- 1/2 cup cold butter, cubed
- 3/4 cup strawberry preserves
- 1/4 cup butter, softened
- 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup packed brown sugar
- 1/2 cup quick-cooking or old-fashioned oats
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/2 teaspoon almond extract
- 1/2 cup confectioners' sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon almond extract
- 1 to 2 teaspoons 2% milk
- In a small bowl, combine flour and brown sugar; cut in butter until mixture is crumbly. Press into a greased 9-in. square baking pan. Bake at 350u0b0 for 15-20 minutes or until lightly browned.
- Spread preserves over crust. In a small bowl, combine the butter, flour, brown sugar, oats, cinnamon and extract; sprinkle over preserves.
- Bake for 20-25 minutes or until golden brown. Combine the confectioners' sugar, almond extract and enough milk to achieve desired consistency; drizzle over warm bars. Cool completely on a wire rack.
