World Famous Chili
- 1 1/2 lb. lean ground beef
- 1 onion, chopped
- 1 clove garlic, minced
- pepper to taste
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 2 1/3 c. water
- 1 1/2 (16 oz.) cans whole tomatoes, chopped
- 2 (16 oz.) cans kidney beans
- 1 (15 oz.) can tomato sauce
- 3 Tbsp. chili powder
- 1/2 c. (scant) catsup
- hot pepper sauce to taste
- 2 oz. spaghetti
- Brown ground beef with onion in large skillet, stirring until ground beef is crumbly; drain.
- Add garlic, pepper, salt and water; mix well.
- Add undrained tomatoes and kidney beans, tomato sauce, chili powder, catsup and hot pepper sauce.
- Simmer for 1 1/2 to 2 hours, stirring occasionally.
- Add additional water, if necessary, for desired consistency.
- Break spaghetti into 1 1/2-inch pieces.
- Cook, using package directions; drain.
- Add to chili just before serving.
- Mix well.
- Serves 10.
