Pecan Cake

  1. Cream sugar and butter.
  2. Separate eggs and beat yolks.
  3. Mix yolks with sugar and butter.
  4. Add whiskey and syrup.
  5. Mix spices and baking powder in 3 cups flour.
  6. Use 1 cup flour on nuts, dates and raisins to coat.
  7. Add these and cherries to cake mixture. Beat whites of eggs to stand up, but not dry.
  8. Fold into mixture. Place few of cherries and pecans on top of cake for decoration.
  9. I put cake in 10-inch tube pan lined with greased brown paper.
  10. Bake at 250u0b0 for 3 hours.
