Slice And Bake Oatmeal Cookies

  1. Combine flour, soda and salt; stir well and set aside.
  2. Cream shortening; gradually add sugars, beat well, add eggs and vanilla, mix well.
  3. Add flour mixture; mix well.
  4. Stir in oats and pecans. Shape dough into two 12-inch rolls, wrap in wax paper, chill or freeze.
  5. Unwrap and cut in 1/4-inch slices, place on ungreased cookie sheets.
  6. Bake at 375u0b0 for 8 to 10 minutes.
  7. Will be light brown.
  8. Yields 3 dozen.

  10. Work with chilled dough.
