Texas Sheet Cake
- 2 c. unsifted flour
- 2 c. sugar
- 2 sticks margarine
- 7 Tbsp. unsweetened cocoa
- 1 c. water
- 2 eggs, lightly beaten
- 1 tsp. soda
- 1/2 c. buttermilk
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 1 stick margarine
- 4 Tbsp. cocoa
- 6 Tbsp. milk
- 1 box powdered sugar
- 1 c. chopped pecans
- Grease and lightly flour a 10 x 15 x 1-inch jelly roll pan. Preheat oven to 400u0b0.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine flour and sugar.
- Measure into heavy saucepan, 2 sticks margarine, 7 tablespoons cocoa and water.
- Heat to boiling, stirring well.
- Add to flour-sugar mix and blend well.
- In medium bowl, combine beaten eggs.
- Stir soda into buttermilk.
- Add to egg and vanilla.
- Pour into flour mixture.
- Add cocoa and pour into prepared pan.
- Bake 25 minutes or until done.
