Ham And Cheese Tart
- 1 (9-inch) refrigerated pie crust
- 8 (1 oz.) slices process American cheese, divided
- 2 c. finely chopped, cooked ham
- 2 c. chopped onion
- 2 Tbsp. butter or margarine, melted
- 2 large eggs, lightly beaten
- 1/2 c. milk
- 3 Tbsp. grated Parmesan cheese
- dash of pepper
- Roll pie crust into a 13-inch circle; place onto a 12-inch pizza pan.
- Fold edges under and crimp; prick with a fork.
- Bake at 425u0b0 for 10 minutes; cool.
- Arrange 6 slices cheese, overlapping, on baked crust.
- Sprinkle with cooked ham.
- Cook onion in butter in a large skillet over medium-high heat, stirring constantly, until tender.
- Remove from heat.
- Stir in eggs and next 3 ingredients.
- Spoon over ham.
- Cut each of the remaining 2 cheese slices into 9 squares.
- Arrange on top.
- Bake at 425u0b0 on lower rack of oven 15 minutes or until set.
- Let stand 10 minutes before serving.
- Yields one 12-inch tart.
