Best Layered Salad
- 1 head lettuce
- 1 small pkg. fresh spinach
- 1 lb. fried bacon, crumbled
- 1 pkg. frozen peas
- 1 bunch green onions, chopped
- 2 c. grated Swiss cheese or sharp Cheddar
- 5 hard-boiled eggs, chopped
- 12 oz. sour cream
- 12 oz. mayonnaise (not salad dressing)
- 1 1/2 oz. Blue cheese (optional)
- Into a 13 x 9 x 2-inch pan, tear washed lettuce into bite-size pieces.
- Top with torn fresh spinach.
- Crumble fried bacon on second layer.
- Separate frozen peas and place on top of bacon. Chop green onions on top of peas (1 cup red onion rings may be substituted).
- Sprinkle cheese evenly over previous layer.
- Place chopped hard-cooked eggs over cheese.
- Combine sour cream, mayonnaise and crumbled blue cheese and spread over top.
- Chill overnight before serving.
- Cut into squares for serving.
