Livingston Family Cornbread Dressing

  1. Cook hen in large pot with salted water until tender.
  2. You will need a lot of broth. While hen is cooking, mix up cornbread as follows:
  3. Mix meal, flour, eggs and buttermilk well.
  4. Add onion and celery.
  5. Bake on 350u0b0 to 400u0b0 until browned.
  6. Crumble white bread and put some of the broth over this.
  7. When cornbread is done, mix with white bread.
  8. Add more broth and mix well.
  9. Add chopped boiled eggs and black pepper.
  10. Be sure mixture is almost soupy.
  11. Add deboned hen and bake on 350u0b0 until it begins to brown lightly.
