Beef Broccoli Pie
- 1 lb. ground beef
- 1/4 tsp. garlic salt
- 1 beaten egg
- 3/4 tsp. salt
- 10 oz. pkg. frozen, chopped broccoli
- 4 oz. Monterey Jack cheese
- milk
- 2 Tbsp. all-purpose flour
- 3 oz. pkg. cream cheese
- 1/4 c. chopped onion
- 1 1/4 c. milk
- pastry for 2 (9-inch) pies
- In medium skillet, brown beef and onion; drain.
- Stir in flour, salt and garlic.
- Add 1 1/4 cups milk and cream cheese. Cook and stir until mixture is smooth and bubbly.
- Add a little of this mixture to the beaten egg; return to mixture in skillet. Cook and stir over medium heat until mixture thickens.
- Stir in cooked broccoli; set aside.
- Line a 9-inch pie plate with 1/2 the pastry. Spoon meat mixture into shell.
- Cut Monterey Jack cheese into slices and arrange on top of mixture.
- Adjust the top crust of the meat pie.
- Seal.
- Use fork to make perforations in the pie crust. Brush top with a little milk.
- Bake at 350u0b0
- for 40 to 45 minutes. Let stand 10 minutes before serving.
