Fudge Ribbon Cake
- 2 Tbsp. butter
- 8 oz. cream cheese
- 2 1/4 c. sugar
- 1 Tbsp. cornstarch
- 3 eggs
- 2 Tbsp. plus 1 1/3 c. milk
- 1/2 c. butter
- 1 1/2 tsp. vanilla extract
- 2 c. all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1 tsp. baking powder
- 1/2 tsp. baking soda
- 3 envelopes Choco-bake
- Cream 2 tablespoons butter with the cream cheese, 1/4 cup sugar and cornstarch.
- Add 1 egg, 2 tablespoons milk and 1/2 teaspoon vanilla; beat until smooth.
- Grease and flour bottom of a 13 x 9-inch pan.
- Place in bowl the flour, 2 cups sugar, salt, baking powder, soda, 1/2 cup butter and 1 cup milk.
- Blend, then beat for 1 1/2 minutes at a low speed.
- Add 1/3 cup milk, 2 eggs, Choco-bake and 1 teaspoon vanilla; beat 1 1/2 minutes.
- Spread half of batter in pan.
- Spoon cheese mixture over batter; spread to cover.
- Top with remaining batter.
- Bake at 350u0b0 for 50 to 60 minutes.
- Sprinkle with powdered sugar or chocolate frosting.
