Gingerbread Houses
- 2 boxes plain graham crackers
- 2 cans prepared vanilla frosting
- 1 c. confectioners sugar
- food coloring
- variety of boxes, milk cartons, coffee cans, gumdrops, cinnamon candies, peppermints, colored, shaped cereals like Fruit Loops, etc. (Teddy Grahams, candy cakes, sprinkles, etc.)
- aluminum foil
- stiff cardboard (for tray)
- Cover a cardboard tray with aluminum foil.
- Put frosting in bowl with confectioners sugar and mix thoroughly.
- Frost the outside of a milk carton.
- Cover with graham cracker "bricks."
- Use frosting to attach candies and cereals for decorating.
- Use cake decorator to pipe on icicles and designs.
- Attach to board with frosting.
- Continue decorating until you have your own gingerbread town.
- Experiment with different shaped boxes and cans to build condos, castles and churches.
- (Ice cream cones make great trees when covered with green frosting.)
- Use your imagination and create a great, edible holiday centerpiece!
