Unbaked Fruit Cake
- 3 lb. seeded raisins
- 2 lb. dates
- 1 lb. candied cherries
- 1 lb. crystallized pineapple
- 1/4 lb. citron
- 1/4 lb. candied orange peel
- 1 lb. figs
- 1/4 lb. candied lemon peel
- 1/2 c. grape juice
- 2 lb. pecans, shelled
- 2 tsp. cinnamon
- 1 tsp. nutmeg
- 1/2 tsp. cloves
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1 orange (juice and rind)
- 1 c. sugar
- 1 c. grape jelly
- Chop fruits and nuts and mix with orange and grape juice. Line a crock or casserole with brown paper and insert two strips of cloth in crock to facilitate removing and pack very closely. This should stand in a cool place about ten days before cutting.
