Fruit Cookies
- 2 lb. dates
- 1/2 lb. candied cherries
- 1/2 lb. candied pineapple
- 5 c. chopped pecans
- 1/2 c. butter
- 1 1/2 c. sugar
- 2 eggs
- 3 c. plain flour
- 3 tsp. cinnamon
- 1 tsp. nutmeg
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1 Tbsp. vanilla
- 1/2 tsp. soda
- 1/2 c. whiskey
- Beat softened butter and sugar together.
- Add eggs and beat. Mix all dry ingredients (flour and seasonings).
- Alternate adding dry ingredients and whiskey to the butter, sugar and egg mixture. Mix well.
- Add vanilla.
- Add candies, dates and pecans.
- Drop by teaspoon on cookie sheet.
- Bake at 300u0b0 for approximately 20 minutes.
- Store in airtight container for moist cookies.
- Add a piece of apple to container for even softer cookies.
